About us - Visual Abstract

Our Story

10 years in the making and now it is time to act. For 10 years we have studied the needs and pains of those that produce and those that consume research.
Wherever we looked, in academia and in industry, among researchers and non-researchers, people were facing the same problem: There was too much research. People couldn’t find what they were looking for and even the best work went unnoticed, diluted by an unprecedented information overabundance. In 2018 co-founders Sari, Gaurav and Benito shaped the business plan for Visual Abstract, a mission-driven social enterprise that would help people to search, find and read scientific publications. Finally, in 2022, VAVisual Abstract GmbH was founded in Mannheim, Baden-Württemberg.

Proud to be part of #TheLänd. We are committed to this region in the industrial heart of Europe with its strong political endorsement for entrepreneurship, its high concentration of leading universities and its extraordinary density of leading industry players. Our company is humbled to partner with some of the largest corperations in the pharmaceutical and scientific publishing industry: Together, we want to change science communication!

At Visual Abstract, we are pioneers in the critical field of science communication, dedicated to making complex research accessible and understandable for all. Our mission is to combat information overabundance by providing accessible and engaging solutions for the ever-growing body of research in today’s fast-paced world.

Just think about this: Currently, one researcher saves roughly 50 seconds every time she reads one of our Visual Abstracts. If tomorrow, all the researchers of the world would read just one of these Visual Abstracts, they would save decades of research time, on a single day.
